Hi, my name is Leilani, and I serve as the Director of Growth & Engagement with Nexus Mentoring! My journey with Nexus has come full circle from friend of the organization, to mentor-in-training, and now staff.

I’m a community builder passionate about developing people and strengthening organizations and communities. My career has spanned nonprofit, ministry, and higher education, including six years at Stanford University. While there, I was actively involved in employee communities and resource groups, and helped launch initiatives focused on connection and professional development. Outside of work, I enjoy time with family, traveling, serving the community, with a good cup of coffee in hand!

I wouldn’t be who I am today without mentors, and I’m passionate about pouring into others the way others have poured into me. As someone from a hardworking, under-resourced background who grew up moving every couple of years, I value connecting with people from many different backgrounds and creating space to be curious, explore, and show up authentically. I’m an open book and genuinely curious about others, too. If you’re looking for a mentor who will show up authentically and give you space to do the same, I’d love to have you in my pod!
