Assistant Professor | University of Texas, Dallas

Dr. Alice Wang received her PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2004.  She has over 20 years of experience in designing semiconductors for Mobile Processors at Texas Instruments and MediaTek.  Currently she is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Dallas in the Computer Science Department.  In her free time she loves eating her mom's cooking, playing mahjong with her dad, volunteering with the prison ministry, going to trivia night with friends, and solving complex jigsaw puzzles on her tablet. 


Ex-Global Growth Leader | WTW

Cecile Chang is a seasoned health and benefits leader who spent more than 25 years at WTW, most recently serving as Global Growth Leader for a $1.5B global practice. She led global commercialization, client strategy, and thought leadership initiatives, and has deep experience helping organizations design and deliver employee health and wellbeing solutions. Cecile is committed to developing future leaders and is passionate about mentoring individuals navigating career growth, change, and purpose-driven work. In her personal life, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband of 26 years, Michael, and their two children when they are home from college. Cecile's hobbies are exercising (running, swimming and strength training), reading, and sending photos of the family dog (Java) to the kids to entertain them (known within the family as "Java on the shelf" photos).


Product Design Lead | IBM

Christie started her journey in Hong Kong and came to California to study industrial design—never imagining it would lead to a 25+ year career in tech. She’s worked with companies from startups to global brands like PayPal, Intuit, SAP, and IBM, helping turn complex ideas into simple, user-friendly experiences.

She loves exploring new places, finding inspiration in art and architecture, and connecting with people over coffee to share stories and ideas. Christie believes that finding your passion, sparking curiosity, and building resilience are essential keys to growth. It might feel daunting at times, but you don’t have to navigate alone. As a mentor, she’s excited to help young adults uncover their strengths, embrace challenges, and design their own paths forward.


Pharmacist

I am a community pharmacist with over 27 years of experience. Holding a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, I have extensive background in retail pharmacy practice around the California Central Coast and Silicon Valley. More recently, my work is centered in local health clinic pharmacies. This is where I enjoy providing comprehensive, cost-effective, clinically focused care to the underserved local downtown population. Over the years, my career also includes operating my husband's dental office. As a small business owner, I have experience in areas of HIPAA compliance, HR, and bookkeeping.

Outside of work, much of my efforts go to reaching the youth at the Golden Gate Young Marines. I enjoy engaging with the youth by supervising drills, planning encampments or local events, and advising on board reviews. I also serve as the designated Unit Financial Manager, as well as Drug Demand Reducing Officer.

I'm happily married for 26 years and raise two incredible teenage sons. Together with my family, I love to hike, camp, travel, serve in my church, and laze around with my cat. I can’t wait to be your mentor and journey together on this road of discovery!


Chief Operating Officer | WellSpring

JuneAn has a 20+ year career as a business and IT executive leader in Fortune 500 companies in the Bay Area.  Her primary work focus was data management, digital technology, and leadership development.  She have a passion for growing organizations, driving results, and mentoring the next generation of leaders.

JuneAn has also served as a Director on several nonprofit boards such as Faith and Work Journey,  Menlo Church, and Denia Bridges Foundation supporting Christian youth programs in Spain.  She loves helping others discover their purpose, set career goals, and navigate both the opportunities and challenges of work life and life balance. 

JuneAn enjoys walking, reading, traveling, hanging out with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and fur-babies!


Principal UX Designer| Endor Labs

Karen brings over 20 years of experience leading user experience (UX) design for startups and tech companies. She is currently the Principal UX Designer at Endor Labs. Before transitioning into cybersecurity, Karen was at Roche, where she designed 0-to-1 products that empowered doctors to personalize cancer care. She holds an MA in Design Management and a BFA in Graphic Design.

Having benefited greatly from mentorship early in her career, Karen understands its transformative power during young adulthood and is excited to give back as a mentor.

Karen resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and their two daughters. She is passionate about gastronomy, traveling, and fostering meaningful connections. Karen aspires to be involved in initiatives that bridge local and global communities, with a special interest in Japan.


Linh Ly

Realtor | Rainmaker Real Estate

Linh is a real estate agent in Silicon Valley. Her career journey has taken pivots in a variety of industries as: researcher in pharmaceutical labs, executive assistant in real estate, ministry staff at a local church, recruiter/trainer for a marketplace ministry, and back to real estate as a Realtor. She is a people person and is best connecting with others, encouraging and building others up in her communities. As a Nexus Mentor, Linh loves to encourage young adults and come alongside them as they discover their purpose, passions, and giftings. She loves hearing people's stories, as well as sharing her life experiences and imparting insight and wisdom.

Linh loves to travel and volunteer, happiest when exploring the globe, meeting new people, serving others and savoring ethnic foods. Her journeys have taken her to Honduras, South Africa, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong and China. At home, she loves spending quality time with her family, especially her nieces and nephew, fully embracing her reputation as the "fun auntie". She dabbles in various arts and crafts projects and can be found tending to her succulent garden.


Malia Penington

Malia is a seasoned Senior Account Manager with over 20 years of diverse experience in sales, finance, and real estate foreclosures. She values the art of building genuine connections and embraces a strategic mindset to reach her goals.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Malia is deeply committed to serving others through ministry and inspiring hope. She looks forward to sharing her support, knowledge and experiences to guide the next generation of professionals in their personal and career growth at Nexus Mentoring.

In her personal time, Malia finds solace in travel, treasured moments with her family, and the simple joys of playing sand volleyball and admiring sunsets on the beach.


Staff Product Designer | Netflix

Margaret is from Hong Kong and Queens NY, and as much as she loves cities, she can’t survive winter weather anymore! She now lives in Mountain View California with her husband and little girl. Margaret is a product designer who has worked across payments and commerce industries, notably at places like eBay, Visa, and now Netflix. She loves applying design thinking to life problems, and mentoring others to creatively find the best version of themselves. Margaret enjoys video games, singing at church, playing tabletop RPGs, and interior designing something (or at least YouTubing it!). Since becoming a mom, she has been occupied with chasing her baby around and trying to teach her Cantonese!


Senior Vice President | DTS

Melissa Ho recently completed her latest assignment as Vice President of Federal Services at a small consulting firm in the D.C. metro area. She holds a master’s degree in Adult Education and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Virginia—and, somewhat unexpectedly, found her professional home in the world of federal accounting and procurement. Melissa thrives at the start of new projects, where she enjoys bringing clarity to early-stage complexity. She loves developing team members and aligning their talents to achieve outcomes no single individual could accomplish alone. Through Nexus Mentoring, Melissa is excited to walk alongside young adults as they explore identity, values, strengths, and limitations through thoughtful, meaningful conversation. On any given morning, you can find her experimenting with new coffee beans or brewing methods. Her hobbies include trail biking, hiking, cooking, and enjoying live theater and the performing arts.


Fractional Startup Sales Leader

Michael Chang is a mentor, advisor, and lifelong learner who enjoys helping young adults navigate questions of identity, purpose, and direction as they move through key life transitions. He chose to be a mentor because he believes the most important growth happens in self-awareness, values, and making thoughtful decisions when the path isn’t clear. As a mentor, he enjoys listening, asking insightful questions, and helping mentees build confidence in who they are and where they’re headed.

Professionally, his background is in enterprise software, B2B sales and startups, after getting a BSEE from UC Berkeley. He is currently the principal of Revity GTM Partners, where he works with early-stage startups and growth-stage companies on go-to-market strategy, sales, operations & leadership. He also serves as a sales mentor and coach at the Alchemist Accelerator.

Outside of work, Michael loves playing volleyball, pickleball, tinkering with cars, fixing things around the house, and traveling with his wife & college-aged kids.

He’s always up for meaningful conversations.


Michael Ong

Pastor | Asian American Baptist Church

After working various jobs in marketing, radio, and television in California, Michael realized his passion is helping other people find and develop their passions. Deciding to move out to Texas, Michael has realized his dream of helping others by working at his local church as the Pastor of Children and Adult Ministry for the last 15 years. Each day, Michael helps others find their passion through teaching, mentoring, and counseling.

Michael is married to his wife Stephanie and has four young children (two boys, two girls). With the little free time he has, Michael can be found cheering on his Bay Area sports teams, wishing he could still play basketball and baseball like his 20 year old self, and listening to his childhood music (grunge, punk, and 90's West Coast/East Coast rap being his favorites).


Sr. Technical Program Manager | Pure Storage

Ming has had the privilege of working in Silicon Valley for 40 years, taking on four different roles throughout his career: software engineer, quality engineer, technical program manager, and Agile coach. Over the years, he has contributed his skills to approximately 20 different companies, ranging from small startups with just six employees to multinational giants (250,000+ employees) like EMC, VMware, Arlo, SAP/SuccessFactor, WePay/JPMorgan Chase, and Fujitsu. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Iowa State University. Ming has actively participated in mentoring programs at various levels, including high school, college, corporate, and non-profit organizations. He finds joy in mentoring as it allows him to share his extensive experience and offer a unique perspective to others. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ming moved to the United States for college. He is married and has three adult children, two of whom are adopted. Outside of work, Ming enjoys reading, watching movies, playing sports such as table tennis and tennis, and traveling.


Randy Lee

Teacher | Berryessa Union School District

Randy is a long-time educator with 26+ years of teaching experience within the public school system. Along the way, he has received notable accolades including a 2010 Teacher of the Year Award, Top 100 National Teacher Recognition from Disney, and an Outstanding Young Educator nomination from the San Jose Jaycees. He co-founded the RuskinFIT health and fitness program at Ruskin Elementary School. In 2011, the program received the CA Governor’s Challenge Fitness Award and highlighted the importance of healthy eating and physical fitness for young children. His most valued accomplishments are the gains that his students make under his care. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Public Relations and Marketing from National University. His postgraduate teaching degree is from Prescott University with credentials in both Arizona and California. He has mentored teacher candidates from National University, Santa Clara University, and San Jose State University. When not in the classroom, Randy serves as a Stephen Ministry care giver, security consultant, and enjoys being outdoors with friends and family members who share the same enjoyment of being in the wild. He enjoys running, camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. Randy has been married for over 20 years to a fellow school teacher and together, they have two adult daughters. One just graduated from college and the other just finished her first quarter in college.


Strategic Development Director | Nexus Mentoring

Sabrina is the Co-Founder and Strategic Development Director at Nexus Mentoring. She holds an MBA and bachelor's degree from Purdue University and was previously a high school teacher of business, DECA, and entrepreneurship. Prior to teaching, Sabrina spent most of her 20+ years of corporate career at Hewlett-Packard as a Senior Director of Supply Chain for the North American Consumer PC division; anything supply chain and operations get her really excited! Sabrina loves to collaborate, to build up diverse teams, and drive excellence in execution. At Nexus Mentoring, she hopes to mentor young adults as they grow in finding their identity, passions, and grit. Her favorite pastimes include gardening, backpacking, politics, and traveling. Sabrina has two young adult sons who live in NY and TX and she loves to go visit them. And she is also up for coffee anytime! 


Executive Director | Nexus Mentoring

Sandy is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Nexus Mentoring which converges her passions, skills, education, and life experiences. Prior to this new initiative, she served as the Staff Director at Healing Grove Health Center and as the Founding Director of Gateway Preschool Academy.  From decades of educating young minds and adults, she is excited to guide individuals in discovering their life design and empowering their leadership.

Outside of work, she actively engages with nonprofit organizations, strategically developing people and programs that benefit local and global communities. She enjoys white water rafting, camping, fishing, and hiking with her husband and four daughters. She also enjoys a good cup of coffee with friends, a new book, or puzzle.


Shyan has been practicing general dentistry for 25 years and counting. He has gained his experience largely from being an owner of 2 private family dental practices, spending countless hours with non-profit organizations providing care to the underserved and Veteran communities, answering the call of duty as a US Army dentist, and teaching and mentoring individuals pursuing a career in dentistry. He is passionate about helping others find equitable and creative solutions to their dental needs.

Outside of dentistry, he enjoys working out daily. Given the chance, a long hike or camping trip will be choice activities. He also invests in the next generation by serving as a volunteer with a youth cadet program. He enjoys forming supportive community bonds by spending time with family small groups at his local church.

Shyan is a proud alumnus of the University of the Pacific where he earned his Bachelor's of Arts in Applied Sciences, as well as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He is married to Hannah, and they have 2 capable sons, Caleb and Gideon.

Ophthalmic Consultant

Tim T. Lam, PhD, FARVO was born in China, raised in Hong Kong, and pursued his graduate studies in the United States. He is an independent pharmaceutical consultant specializing in preclinical ophthalmic drug development and serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Optometry, Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr. Lam received his PhD in Pharmacology from the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has been a Fellow of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (FARVO) since 2009.

He began his career in academia, holding research and faculty appointments at the Medical College of the University of Illinois at Chicago, the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and later as Associate Professor at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California.

Transitioning to industry, Dr. Lam served as Global Director of Pharmacology at Bausch & Lomb, Senior Study Director in Toxicology at Covance/Labcorp, and Senior Director of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Kodiak Sciences. Since 2015, he has operated as an independent consultant supporting ophthalmic drug development programs worldwide.

Beyond his professional work, Tim has been married to his wife for 43 years. Together they have a daughter, a son, and two grandchildren. Nothing brings him greater joy than seeing young people grow and succeed — many of his students and fellows have gone on to do well, and he is grateful to have played a part in their journeys. He enjoys reading, road trips, gardening, and meeting new people.


Corporate Real Estate Strategy | First Citizens Bank

William has a proven track record of advancing workplace technologies, optimizing corporate real estate portfolios, and driving data‑driven strategies at Bank of America and First Citizens. Earlier in his career, he led system selection and implementation initiatives for real estate clients while at Deloitte Consulting.

He holds master’s degrees in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and in Planning from the University of Southern California, as well as a graduate degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Outside of work, William enjoys planning local and international travel and creating lasting memories with his family. He is deeply committed to serving his local Christian church and community.

William has been married to Aida for 25 years, and together they have three children, all graduates of Texas A&M University.


Internship Program Manager | CityTeam

Wilson Lee is a graduate of UC Berkeley in electrical engineering and computer science and has worked in Silicon Valley as a product manager, software manager, hardware engineer, and manufacturing engineer. Wilson recently shifted to the Christian non-profit sector where he runs the internship program at CityTeam Ministries. Through his 30+ years of experience at IBM, Dell, Siemens, ROLM, and now, CityTeam, he’s learned a lot about business, technology, and life in general.  Wilson is married to Magnolia and they are proud parents of two daughters, both of whom graduated from Valley Christian High School.  Wilson mentors undergrad students at UC Berkeley and he also looks forward to furthering the mentoring at Nexus Mentoring.
